This week for your English learning we would like you to have a go at writing a poem about your time off school.
Mrs Rodgers has written one as an example, you can use some of her ideas if you like.

‘Schools may close’
they said, but I thought ‘no way!’
I didn’t think
that we would see the day
Sadness and worry
and some feelings of fear
Would this be it
for the rest of the year?
Monday morning
came and no alarm to be heard
No rush hour
traffic, just the tweeting of a bird
The world seems so
calm, so quiet and so still
But working
together we will get over the hill
Stay home, stay
safe, let’s all work together
To make our
country better forever
Laptop on, to post
on the blog
Followed by some
fresh air and a walk with the dog
Life has been
strange for a little while now
But you’re still
working hard, so go on take a bow!
We will keep going
until it is done
Let’s show the
virus that it has not won!
